Inviting local feeder schools into the school to complete subject specific project work is an excellent way to build relationships with local teachers and meet prospective students to the school. Primary and Infant schools really value our subject specialist expertise and guidance which can assist in developing their curriculum. They also appreciate the subject specific relationships that we have formed with local artists, museums and galleries. During Arts Week, we invited all of the students from Wheatfields Year 4 to complete a pottery workshop alongside the Dacorum and Chiltern Potters Guild. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to teach alongside members of the guild to develop our professional practice and share ideas with teachers from the Junior school. The students of Year 4 benefitted from a whole school curriculum day they may not have had the opportunity to experience and to see how excited they all were to come over and participate was hugely rewarding. These days form a reminder of the outstanding practice that takes place across Infant, Primary and Secondary schools and the importance of collaborating to share ideas.
